"The regulation is necessary. But right now, Belgium still has no officially appointed supervisor." That's Christoph Balduck, CTO at Datatrust Associates to VRT NWS.
The catch most companies miss: the AI Act's transparency rules took effect on 2 August, but Belgium has no watchdog to enforce them yet. FOD Economie has confirmed it; for now, these rights can only be enforced through the courts.
With BIPT set to take on the role once the legislation clears parliament. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐚𝐲. No referee on the pitch doesn't mean there are no rules. The obligations already apply, and you can already be held to them.
